I am South Africa’s funniest Jewish stand-comedian who grew up on a farm in Africa, climbing trees and commentating on my own rugby games in three of South Africa’s eleven official languages. I am not a big fan of sharing my private life, but after seeing so many serious CVs on this platform which make it seem life is a perfectly planned and executed series of events I thought I’d share with all the young entrepreneurs and aspiring professionals that life has a way of sitting down for coffee with Mr Murphy on a regular basis.
I hope you will enjoy the energy, chaos and complete lack of direction I had… I loved every minute of it. And that is the essence I wish to convey: live life to the fullest. Don’t worry too much about screwing up. Go out and try. Make a fool of yourself. Gain experiences and live adventures. If possible try to leave every place just a tad better than you found it. And as the old saying goes, be nice to people on your way up, they are the ones you will meet on your way down.
I’ll never forget a graffiti I saw outside Zurich train station… ‘It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice’.
Specialties: Laughing. Having fun. Seeing the glass half full. Meeting new people and trying new things. Screwing up and getting back on my feet. Changing the world one step at the time.
In my experience the most important thing in life is to find people you can trust and whose company you enjoy. My advice? Surround yourself with positive can-do optimistic and proactive people. People who motivate you and push you to reach new boundaries.

I have been the Chief Financial Officer of PPC Limited since August 2011. Before this I was the CFO of WIPHOLD, joining them in 2006. Prior to that I worked at SAA as CFO. I’ve held numerous executive and non-executive positions throughout my career including President of African Women Chartered Accountants and Portfolio Manager and Head of the Institute of Excellence at RMB Asset Management. I headed the Asset and Liability Division of the National Treasury where my focus was on the restructuring of state-owned assets, ensuring legislative compliance by public entities and monitoring contingent liabilities of Government. I was instrumental in the listing of Telkom on the JSE and NYSE and enforcing the payment of R10 billion in dividends by public entities to Government.
Despite additional Non-Executive Directorship roles, I have found time to pursue transformation in the financial services sector through her leadership of the African Woman Chartered Accountants (AWCA) society and the establishment of the Institute of Investment Excellence.
I attended the University of Pretoria and received my B.Com Honours degree in Accounting Sciences in 2009. Where I began my career as an academic article trainee lecturing Accounting. I then completed my article traineeship with KPMG and was admitted as a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) in 2013. I also hold a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Pretoria.
Upon the completion of my articles, I joined KPMG’s department of Professional Practice, where I served as a specialist in public sector accounting and assurance matters.
I held the portfolio of audit clients, which I managed within the public sector space, one of which was the NYDA. I led the turnaround of the finance and supply chain management divisions that culminated in two clean audits and a fundamental reduction in irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
